Oral piercings and consequences on your dental health
At the EuroPerio congress on June 16, a study carried out by Professor Clemens Walter, from the University of Greifswald (Germany), was presented, indicating that wearers of oral piercings were exposed to more significant risks in terms of problems oral and dental.
Indeed, labial and lingual piercings are the cause of the appearance of symptoms such as gingival recession, the appearance of deeper pockets around the teeth and which are more or less important depending on the duration of wearing the piercing.
Worsening or appearance of oral problems should alert people with these piercings and also dentists, who can raise awareness of the risks associated with these devices in the case of dental treatments.
