THE IMPORTANCE OF RETENTION
When the result of a treatment is satisfactory and the braces are removed, the teeth must be kept in the desired position. So you need to prevent the teeth from moving with a light appliance called a retainer.
Retention, a crucial stage of orthodontic treatment, helps preserve the results.
How does it work?
Retention is done using appliances that keep the teeth in the correct position.

A clear aligner on the upper teeth, worn at night for at least one year.

A bonded wire
behind the lower
incisors.
Why is it essential?
If the retainer aligner is not worn, the teeth will naturally want to return to their original position. In that case, the result achieved will not be stable.
Monitor wisdom teeth
Wisdom teeth are the last permanent teeth to come in. It is important to monitor their development regularly and to have follow-up panoramic X-rays.
